Quest Arabiya tucks into BBCS food format

No Kitchen Required drops famous chefs into remote locations

MIPCOM: Quest Arabiya in the UAE has become the first international channel to adapt BBC Studios format No Kitchen Required.

The Arabic-language factual entertainment channel has commissioned a 10-part series based on the BBC America original commission and will premiere it at the end of the month. Image Nation of Abu Dhabi is producing the series.

No Kitchen Required follows well-known chefs as they leave the comfort of their kitchens and are dropped into remote locations around the world. They must work with the locals to hunt, forage and collect ingredients to create a locally inspired meal.

Meanwhile, Astronauts: Toughest Job in the Universe will make its debut as a local format with Dubai Media. The 10-part series, which aired to critical acclaim on BBC2 in the UK, follows 14 ordinary people as they take on a demanding training regime usually reserved for real-life astronaut candidates.
