Queer Eye prodco scouts exec trio

The US-based producer behind Netflix’s Queer Eye has made three appointments to its production and distribution team.

Joel Chiodi

Scout Productions has named Joel Chiodi as senior VP of strategic development, Sean Perez as VP of production and Renata Lombardo as VP of talent and development.

Chiodi has previously worked as exec VP of marketing at Legendary Pictures and was most recently a consultant working on the reboot of Queer Eye, which first aired on US cablenet Bravo as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. He will now cultivate IP and strategic relationships, creating and selling content and developing special projects.

Sean Perez

Perez, meanwhile, will run production for all Scout projects having spent more than two decades working for companies including NBC, Fox and MTV.

Lombardo’s remit includes developing new original programming and discovering talent across all genres and platforms. The former producer, who has worked on shows such as Christly Knows Best for USA Network, will also begin working across Scout’s current slate of development and current programming.

Renata Lombardo

David Collins, co-founder of Scout Productions, said now was “the right time” to expand the company following the success of Queer Eye.

“The addition of Renata, Sean and Joel sets us up for that growth with a group that holds the same values of quality and heart that viewers of our content have come to enjoy.”

Scout received a third-season order for Queer Eye during the summer and has previously created and produced programming for HBO, ABC and HGTV, including documentary The Fog of War.
