Quebec is back in full force

Quebec occupies a unique position in the global television market as a generator of both French-language and English-language media in North America. Its highly exportable productions are distinctive and appeal to all kinds of audiences. Quebec creates comedies, documentaries, animation, children’s content and entertainment formats that are elevated by their quality and their variety.

“Quebec’s creators are very active locally, and the audience’s response is more than enthusiastic,” says SODEC CEO and president Louise Lantagne. “One of their assets is the universal aspect of the themes explored in their productions: they resonate with the Quebec public, but also echo abroad. In that sense, the series have high potential for exportation and are easily adaptable.”

After a year-and-a-half of a pandemic, Quebec’s creative talent and companies are back in full force at Content London to present their latest productions under the banner ‘Quebec creates,’ an umbrella operation coordinated by SODEC.

“We are excited to showcase the talent and the ingenuity of 10 companies that have been able to keep filming and producing series and content despite the pandemic,” Lantagne adds. “SODEC has been present and offered support with special programmes helping the productions to adapt to sanitary measures so they could resume filming, but they all showed incredible resilience in this situation and kept aiming for the highest quality possible. And the results speak for themselves.”

In association with SODEC, C21 is highlighting 10 Quebec active distribution and production companies, present at Content London this year: Aetios Productions, Encore International, HG Distribution, Incendo, Media Ranch, Muse, Pixcom, Rezolution Pictures, Trio Orange and Zone3.
