Pure Flix/Quality Flix inks Euro, MENA deals

Scott Baio and Kristy Swanson star in Courting Mom & Dad

MIPCOM: International distributor Pure Flix/Quality Flix has sealed deals in Europe and the Middle East for the slate of rom-com telemovies it has launched at Mipcom Online+ this week.

The international arm of US-based independent faith and family studio Pure Flix has concluded a sizeable agreement with Netherlands-based OTT service Dutch Channels for a slew of titles.

These include family comedies Courting Mom & Dad, starring Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Scott Baio (Arrested Development); and Finding Love in Quarantine, featuring David AR White (God’s Not Dead) and Eva LaRue (CSI: Miami).

The Dutch Channels package also includes faith-themed movies The Reason and Sweet Inspirations and the first two seasons of mystery thriller The Encounter (8×30’ and 10×48’).

The deal with Dutch Channels, which claims to operate Europe’s biggest Christian channel, New Faith Network, and romance channel With Love, among other services, covers the Netherlands, Scandinavia and the UK, where it operates its channels.

LA-based Pure Flix/Quality Flix has also signed a deal with Lebanon-based distributor Italia Film International to distribute Courting Mom & Dad and Finding Love in Quarantine across the Middle East and North Africa region.

“We’ve had a great response to the new rom-coms and other films on our slate. I want to meet with broadcasters during Mipcom to talk about these first set of films from our upcoming slate,” said Ron Gell, VP of international sales and distribution for Pure Flix/Quality Flix.

Other titles launched this week by the company include Love is On the Air, featuring Jason London (Dazed & Confused), John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard), Max Udell (Lisa & Liza) and soap stars Lindsay Hartley (All My Children) and Judy Evans (Days of Our Lives).
