Psychic trend gives birth to new channel

Several Christian television networks emerged through the 1990s but it's now the time of the psychics to offer viewers some answers as the Psychic Channel launches in the UK next month.

Craig and Jane Hamilton-Parker, the husband and wife psychic team behind the Spirit of Diana televised séance, are banking on the demand for paranormal programmes with a new Psychic block to launch into digital satellite homes.

With the UK launch planned for March and hopes for US carriage, The Psychic Channel is to be carried by the Eurobird satellite, which delivers television into 6m homes within the UK.

The Hamilton-Parkers will anchor shows about mediums, which will initially run for two hours per day, produced by telecommunications company Xero 9.

Chief accounting officer Paul Bennit told C21: {We mainly work on SMS and telecoms services and wanted to move into television. We approached Craig and Jane as we thought they would be the perfect hosts for a psychic channel and there is such demand for this sort of thing.{

The first shows are planned to be chatshows about psychic phenomenon, while the Hamilton-Parkers aim to later make programmes about haunted castles and stately homes.
