ProSiebenSat.1 builds Mansion in LA

Studio71, the multi-channel network (MCN) owned by German media giant ProSiebenSat.1, has made its first move into the US with the launch of The Mansion, a channel exploring life in Los Angeles.

The initiative will target US branded entertainment sponsors and YouTube talent, as it aims to expand its global reach in the rapidly growing online video market.

Videos on The Mansion will be shot on location in LA and will be hosted by German YouTube stars Gronkh and Sarazar, who will explore California’s lifestyle and digital entertainment industries.

The firm is planning to take The Mansion concept from LA to Berlin in the fall.

“As American MCNs are planting their flags in Germany, where we are very strong, our plan is to be the first international MCN to target the American market with The Mansion,” said Dr Sebastian Weil, MD of Studio71. “We are creating a truly global platform for American branded entertainment sponsors and leading web talent.”

The move is part of a wider effort by ProSiebenSat.1 to expand its digital and production business.
