ProSieben, Brainpool put together FameMaker

German broadcaster ProSieben, Banijay Group-owned Brainpool and TV producer Stefan Raab have begun casting their latest music show, FameMaker.

Set to be produced this summer, the show sees judges Carolin Kebekus, Luke Mockridge and Teddy Teclebrhan assess each contestants’ talent without hearing them sing.

Encased in a soundproof dome, each singer will perform on stage and the judges must pull a lever if they believe the singer is singing well. The singer will then get the chance to perform again, with sound, and will be assessed by viewers based on how entertaining their performance is.

ProSieben station chief Daniel Rosemann said: “In FameMaker, Stefan Raab combines music, comedy and competition.”

The show is the latest collaboration between ProSieben, Brainpool and Raab, with the trio previously working together on shows such as Schlag den Star (Beat Your Host) and, most recently, The Free European Song Contest.
