Propagate will develop, pitch and produce Caracol formats including scripted series La Niña (The Girl) and unscripted show Otro Nivel (On Another Level). Broadcaster details for both shows have not been revealed.

Propagate revealed its deal for singing format On Another Level in October and has also recently launched an international division, appointing Cyrus Farrokh to run it.

Silverman, Propagate’s chairman and co-CEO, and Owens, co-CEO, said: “Caracol has a track record of developing innovative and successful formats that we believe are ripe for the US market.

“This partnership with Caracol is the first of its kind for Propagate, and represents how we are looking to redefine the global content business by taking the model for our successful US production platform to the international market.”

Lisette Osorio, VP of international sales for Caracol TV, added: “It is a great opportunity for Caracol and we are convinced that this is the first step of many that we are going to take together in this new journey in the US market.”

The agreement was negotiated by Farrokh and Jay Weisleder on behalf of Propagate and Osorio on behalf of Caracol. Weisleder will manage the partnership.

Propagate has 12 series in production and has several international partnerships in place, having already licensed two international formats to US broadcasters including Exhibit A, a drama for CBS based on South Korean series My Lawyer, Mr Jo, which airs on KBS2.
