Propagate partners filmmaker Antoine Fuqua

US production company Propagate has signed a multi-year deal with filmmaker Antoine Fuqua and his prodco to make TV series.

Antoine Fuqua

Fuqua is behind feature films such as 2004’s King Arthur, Olympus Has Fallen in 2013 and 2016’s remake of The Magnificent Seven.

For TV, he most recently directed and exec produced HBO documentary What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali, while his prodco Fuqua Films is currently producing drama series #FreeRayShawn for shortform streaming platform Quibi.

Under the pact with A+E Networks-backed Propagate, Fuqua Films will expand its television activities in both scripted and non-scripted programming.

“Antoine Fuqua has produced and directed some of the most gripping film and television projects of our time and has a singular creative voice,” said Propagate chairman and co-CEO Ben Silverman.

Fuqua added: “With all of the new digital platforms and the growing appetite among viewers for fresh, original work, it’s an incredible time to be directing and producing television.”

Propagate is the production company founded in 2016 and led by Silverman and Howard T Owens.
