Rodney Ferrell is joining the A+E Networks-backed producer and distributor as executive VP of scripted television.

The new role will see Ferrell lead the development of premium scripted content, working with writers, talent and intellectual property from across his and Propagate’s collective network.

Ferrell had been president of Silver Pictures Television since 2015 and built up a slate of scripted and non-scripted properties. Prior to that he was a veteran of the feature film business, spending 14 years at Fox 2000 as senior VP of development and production.

During his tenure he was responsible for hits including Marley & Me, 27 Dresses, Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Water for Elephants.

The announcement was made jointly by Propagate co-CEO Owens and president Greg Lipstone. It follows the arrival of Lipstone in September and the purchase of Electus and Artists First in December.
