Asmodee board game Ticket to Ride

US prodco Propagate is developing a TV competition series with Asmodee Entertainment based on adventure board game Ticket to Ride.

The railway-themed game, designed by Alan R Moon and published by Days of Wonder and Asmodee Studios, has sold six million copies in 40 countries worldwide, according to Asmodee.

According to Propagate, the TV adaptation will take the form of a travel competition series in which five teams go on “the journey of a lifetime” while completing various challenges and attempting to rack up the most miles by air, land and sea.

“Propagate has earned a reputation for identifying great stories wherever they are and turning them into unique and compelling filmed entertainment,” said Propagate co-CEO Howard Owens and president Greg Lipstone in a joint statement.

Stéphane Carville, president of Asmodee, added: “We are delighted to bring one of our most iconic properties to life with the help of our visionary partners at Propagate. We look forward to future collaborations.”

Asmodee Entertainment was launched recently to extend Asmodee IP into TV, film, publishing, location based-entertainment and consumer products.
