Primitives evolve with new hires

Belgian distributor The New Flemish Primitives (TNFP) has hired Eyeworks Belgium and Talpa execs as part of a rejig of its senior team.

Siobhan Crawford

Siobhan Crawford, previously MD of the company, has been upped to general manager with immediate effect. She will report to Woestijnvis, De Mensen and De Filistijnen – the three leading Belgian indies which established the distributor in 2011.

Additionally, Jan Huyse, one of the founders of Flemish indie Woestijnvis, has returned to TNFP to take up the newly created position of operations manager. He was previously MD of Warner Bros-owned prodco Eyeworks Belgium.

Also joining the firm is Eric Kafoe as senior VP of sales. Kafoe has the task of growing TNFP’s global footprint. Prior to arriving at TNFP, he served as VP of licensing at Dutch media firm Talpa. He has also held senior distribution positions at Sony Pictures Television and Endemol Shine International.

TNFP is the largest distributor of Flemish entertainment, reality, factual, quiz and kids’ formats and programming. It recently secured a landmark deal with Dutch prodco NewBe, as first reported by C21, selling OTT rights to classic gameshow format The Mole. The agreement will see the show developed specifically for VoD platforms for the first time.
