Portugal gets All Together Now

All Together Now was created by Remarkable TV

Portuguese broadcaster TVI has commissioned a local version of Banijay musical format All Together Now.

Shine Iberia Portugal will produce the local version, which will be presented by Cristina Ferreira and is currently being produced under Covid-19 guidelines for a primetime premiere in early 2021.

Originally created by Remarkable TV for BBC1 in the UK, the format sees vocalists perform in front of a jury of 100 people in an attempt to encourage as many of them as possible to stand up and join in.

Including Portugal, All Together Now has now been sold to 15 markets, with eight productions broadcasting this year. The format is currently in its third season in Italy and is also on air in Finland, where it debuted last month with a 24.3% market share.

The news comes as Endemol Shine Brazil prepares for tonight’s International Emmy Awards, where its local version of the format, titled Canta Comigo, has been nominated in the Non-Scripted Entertainment category.

Lucas Green, recently appointed global head of content operations, creative networks, at Banijay, said: “This format delivers unforgettable performances, emotional reactions and loads of humour to bring the entire family together.

“The fun, party atmosphere is just what viewers need right now and we are proud to produce the show using our tried and tested Covid-19 protocols.”
