Portfolio cooks up fresh batch of sales

Canadian distributor Portfolio Entertainment has made a raft of sales for key cooking titles Everyday Exotic, Chef Abroad, French Food at Home, Chef At Home, Chef At Large, It’s Just Food and Mountain Magic.

Seasoning-focused Everyday Exotic was sold to New Zealand satellite network The Living Channel, which picked up the 29×30′ first season, and to pan-regional Discovery Asia, which went for all 39 available episodes.

Discovery Asia also acquired the first two seasons of Michael Smiths’ Chef Abroad, totalling 26 half-hours, as did Travel Channel Europe and Cuisine TV in France.

Poland’s Canal+ Cyfrowy/Kuchnia TV, meanwhile, picked up the first 13×30′ series of that show, its hour-long holiday special, Mountain Magic, and 26×30′ series French Food at Home, in which chef Laura Calder aims to demystify that country’s cooking style. French Food at Home also sold to Korea’s Elle TV and Ananey Communications in Israel.

Another Michael Smith series, Chef at Home, meanwhile, sold to Ukraine’s Menu TV, which went for all three available seasons, amounting to 79×30′ episodes, and Asian Food Channel, which plumped for the first 52 instalments. That network also renewed Smith’s Chef at Large, picking up season five (13×30′).

Finally, Portfolio sold It’s Just Food, which teaches viewers basic techniques, terms and tips for home cooking, to Kuwaiti group Pyramid Entertainment Exports.
