Polsat plans Monsters makeover

Polish network Polsat Cafe has acquired daily makeover format Shopping Monsters from Turkish distributor Global Agency.

Shopping Monsters is a stripped entertainment format that sees five women competing to see who can do the best makeover on themselves in a limited amount of time and on a fixed budget.

The Polish series is being made by Warsaw-based prodco Jake Vision and will launch on the Polsat-owned channel next month.

In Turkey, Kanal D has aired more than 700 episodes of the show, while French broadcaster M6 is now producing a second season of the format. German channel Vox has recently commissioned Constantin Entertainment to make a fifth season.

Global’s latest option deals for the series include Meter Television in Sweden, Shine in Finland and Big Bang Media in Spain. The format has also been produced in Bulgaria (TV7), the Netherlands (RTL5), Hungary (Fem3), Romania (Prima TV), Ukraine (K1), Russia (CTC) and Latvia (TV3).
