Polar+ warms to Buccaneer’s Marcella

The third season of crime thriller Marcella is in production

French channel Polar+, part of pay TV operator Canal+, has bought the first eight-part season of drama series Marcella from UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights.

Produced by London-based Buccaneer Media for UK commercial broadcaster ITV and global streamer Netflix, Marcella is a dark crime thriller from screenwriter and novelist Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge).

Starring Anna Friel, the series is set in contemporary London and centres on the psychological struggles of a Metropolitan Police officer investigating a serial killer. It is now in production for season three.
