Plan B clicks into place for Lego Masters US

Endemol Shine North America and UK-based producer Tuesday’s Child have partnered with Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment on a US remake of British format Lego Masters.

The production companies are set to start conversations with potential US platforms later this month.

Lego Masters was created by Tuesday’s Child and launched on Channel 4 in the UK in 2017, becoming a major rater for the UK network and being extended into a second season.

The US version will be exec produced by Sharon Levy, DJ Nurre and Michael Heyerman for Endemol Shine North America, along with Karen Smith and Steph Harris from Tuesday’s Child and Jill Wilfert and Robert May for The Lego Group.

The format pits eight pairs of expert Lego builders against each other as they attempt to impress with their creativity, design and flair.

Endemol Shine Group is the exclusive distributor of the format across all platforms outside of the UK and has the rights to produce local versions of the show around the world.

Its sales arm, Endemol Shine International, is the exclusive distributor of all finished tape for all versions produced, including the UK original.

The format has already been sold into Australia where Endemol Shine Australia is producing a version for Nine Network, while the producing giant’s German arm has made a version for local broadcaster RTL.
