South Korean broadcaster CJ ENM has acquired preschool animated series Pirata & Capitano (52×11′) from French producer Millimages.

The series, a coproduction with public broadcasters France Télévisions and Italy’s Rai, will air on CJ ENM children’s channel Tooniverse.

The show focuses on Pirata, the captain of The Pink Skull ship, and her best friend, seaplane pilot Capitano. Millimages recently began production on the show’s second 52×11′ season.

It will also air on CJ ENM’s English-language channel English Gem, which launched in May and is also set to play fellow Millimages series Mouk (62×11′).

Meanwhile, Chinese media firm Wow Dadi has taken rights to Pirata & Capitano along with seasons one and two of Corneil & Bernie (104×13′) and Paper Port (52×11′).

The deals were agreed with Millimages at the recent Asia TV Forum, which was held in Singapore between December 5 and 8.
