Pilgrim plots wartime spy thriller

US-based Pilgrim Studios has optioned film and TV rights to a non fiction book based on a true story from the Second World War by author Peter Duffy.

Double Agent tells the story of a German-born US citizen who risked his life to become the first double agent in FBI history and whose work helped convict 33 German spies.

Craig Piligian, CEO of Pilgrim, will develop the novel into a TV and film thriller, acting as executive producer on the project.

Pilgrim produces across both scripted and unscripted genres and has worked on shows such as the documentary series Bring It! for Lifetime, which has just been renewed, and reality show Swamp Pawn for CMT.

The deal was brokered by Sylvie Rabineau at LA-based literary agency RWSG.
