Pilgrim Media Group (PMG) in the US has partnered with a former Discovery Channel president and general manager to develop content based on the Isle of Man’s open-road motorcycle race.

PMG will work with Clark Bunting’s Digital Circus to develop Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) content for TV, film, OTT and gaming platforms, as well as live event programming.

Situated between England and Ireland in the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man is a secluded holiday destination that for two weeks in late May and early June becomes home to a dramatic race through the enclave’s narrow public streets.

Owned by the Isle of Man government, the TT is the fastest road race in the world, and the longest running, dating back to 1907.

It marks the first time an all-media and live programming rights deal for the race, believed to be the one of the most dangerous motorsports events in the world, has been agreed.

Global Motorsports Ventures, an Isle of Man company established by Pilgrim CEO Craig Piligian and Bunting, will operate out of North Hollywood, Detroit and the Isle of Man.

Bunting, who retired from Discovery in 2011, set up Digital Circus last year and has been behind programmes such as The Cold Blue for HBO, SharkWeek: Great White Shark Babies for Discovery Channel and Yellowstone Live for National Geographic Channel.
