Picture Perfect sets Rules for Vanishing

Patrick Wachsberger has linked up with another former Lionsgate exec, Rob Friedman, to acquire the film and TV rights to young-adult novel Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall.

Ex-Lionsgate film head Wachsberger’s prodco Picture Perfect Federation and Friedman’s Ascendant Entertainment will develop the popular book, having previously worked on the Twilight, Hunger Games and Divergent franchises together.

Rules for Vanishing is a genre-bending thriller in which a 17-year-old and her friends receive a mysterious invitation into the woods to ‘play the game,’ which involves walking down an otherworldly road that appears once a year.

“It is not only wonderful to be in business with my good friend and past partner Patrick, but the opportunity to collaborate on the development and production of inspired material such as this brings us both back to working directly with material and telling new stories to a global audience,” said Friedman.

Wachsberger launched Picture Perfect Federation in January after joining forces with French prodco Federation Entertainment.
