Pickbox picks CBS dramas

Pickbox.TV, a subscription VoD service operating across the former Yugoslavia, has taken the rights to two drama series from US broadcaster CBS.

Madam Secretary and Extant will both be available to Pickbox subscribers in Eastern Europe.

Madam Secretary airs on CBS in Sunday primetime and premiered to 17 million viewers earlier this fall season.

The series, which was last week sold to UK satcaster Sky, is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Morgan Freeman’s Revelations Entertainment and stars Tia Leoni as a shrewd Secretary of State battling office politics and global and domestic issues.

Pickbox subscribers can see new episodes with subtitles just 24 hours after they have premiered in the US.

The service has also picked up Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi adventure series, Extant, starring Halle Berry, which premiered in the US in July and was recently renewed for a second season.

Extant is produced by Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment along with CBS Television Studios.

Pickbox has more than 3,000 hours of content available in its library, subtitled in Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian and Macedonian.
