Pick selects Woodcut’s Scariest show

World’s Scariest Hauntings will be distributed by TCB Media Rights

Pick, the free-to-air channel operated by European satcaster Sky in the UK, has ordered a documentary series exploring paranormal encounters.

World’s Scariest Hauntings (10×60’) is currently being produced by UK indie Woodcut Media. The programme investigates ghost stories and scary sightings at 10 locations around the world.

The cases include the Ancient Ram Inn in England, a property built in the 1100s that has housed devil worship and murder; the Edinburgh Vaults in Scotland, where the ghost of a child is said to have held hands with visitors; and the story of Mary Gallagher, the headless woman who supposedly haunts Montreal’s Griffintown.

The deal for the show was agreed by Sophie Judge, acquisitions manager for Pick. The series has been deficit financed and will be distributed internationally by London-based TCB Media Rights.

In March, Pick ordered third seasons of two of Woodcut’s true crime series.
