Paris Hilton to front Viceland show

Returning skateboarding show King of the Road

Youth brand Vice Media is preparing a variety of new shows for its global linear channel Viceland, including a series hosted by celebrity Paris Hilton about becoming famous via social media.

Hollywood Love Story sees Hilton introducing stories of singers, models, actresses, rappers and photographers who are trying to secure fame in LA, with the show set to debut on July 11 at 22.00.

A day before, at 20.00, Viceland will air Post Radical, which follows pro skater Rick McCrank as he explores the variety of subcultures within the skateboarding community, from Sweden to Israel and Palestine.

Also on the slate is science show Mister Tachyon, the first original TV project from music video director Director X, and the previously announced Fighting ISIS, Viceland’s first coproduction with A+E Networks’ channel History.

Viceland will also air an array of returning shows over the summer, including the third season of skater show King of the Road, brewing show Beerland and the second run of Most Expensivest.

Vice has had a turbulent 12 months after being hit by claims of misconduct and sexual harassment among staff.

Its co-founder, Shane Smith, apologised for “failing as a company” and has since moved into an executive chairman’s role with former A+E Networks chief Nancy Dubuc arriving in March to replace him as CEO.

Broadcast group Rogers Media and Vice also terminated their joint venture in Canada, having rolled out linear channel Viceland in the country only in 2016.
