Paramount TV, Federation seal pact

US studio Paramount Television has entered into a first-look agreement with France’s Federation Entertainment and will create US series based on the indie’s international formats.

Under the deal, both companies will jointly create original content with Paramount Television and Federation Entertainment coproducing and co-distributing worldwide.

Paramount Television will also create series based on Federation Entertainment’s international formats for US audiences.

“Through this collaboration, we are able to build upon Federation’s compelling and proven international content to create series targeted at audiences in the US,” said Paramount president Amy Powell.

Pascal Breton, president of Federation Entertainment, said this was not only a chance to co-create US series but also to “build upon our wide distribution network in the global market through a true partnership of shared vision.”

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Federation Entertainment by Alan Grodin of Weintraub Tobin Chedial Coleman Grodin Law, and David Goldman and Erika Kirkwood for Paramount TV.

Paramount Television is behind series including live musical event Grease: Live and spy series Berlin Station.

Federation Entertainment currently has 12 series in production including the second season of Netflix France’s first original series, Marseille.
