Paramount taps Taffer for Marriage Rescue

Paramount Network in the US has ordered a companion series to Bar Rescue in which Jon Taffer will focus on couples whose relationships are on the brink of failure.

Non-scripted series Marriage Rescue (6×60′) follows Bar Rescue host Taffer as he attempts to help couples get their relationships back on track. It will begin airing in the US on June 2.

It comes as Bar Rescue, in which Taffer travels across the US helping failing establishments transform themselves into profitable businesses, has been handed a seventh season. Both series are produced by LA-based 3 Ball Entertainment.

“Bar Rescue is first and foremost about helping people flourish in difficult situations. Marriage Rescue will allow me to focus my energy and passion on couples that need to confront issues and cause serious change in their relationship,” said Taffer, who is also an executive producer on both shows.

“Like fan-favourite Bar Rescue, this series is a raw and emotional look at high-stakes relationships on the edge of shutting down,” added Keith Cox, president of development and production for Paramount Network and TV Land.

Other unscripted series on Paramount Network’s slate include Ink Master, Lip Sync Battle and the recent reboot of Wife Swap.
