Paramount+ gets first mobile deal

Global broadcast group Viacom has confirmed the first mobile distribution deal for its Paramount+ streaming service, signing an agreement with a Swedish telecoms firm.

Telenor will make Paramount+ available as a premium offering to its mobile subscribers as part of a new Telenor Stream Film och Serier streaming service.

Paramount+ launched at the end of last year as a set-top box and TV Everywhere application available in higher-tier subscription packages from a number of Scandi pay TV operators. This is its first mobile deal.

The service offers exclusive first pay TV window viewings of Paramount Pictures movies, as well as classic titles from the Paramount library and more than 800 episodes of MTV and Comedy Central series such as Geordie Shore and South Park.
