Parade, Outdoor serve up tasty mix for Asia

Luke Nguyen’s Railway Vietnam: a culinary journey

Independent distribution company Parade Media and Singapore-based lifestyle network Outdoor Channel have agreed a content and equity partnership for Asia.

Under the deal, Outdoor Channel will license “several hundred hours” of Parade Media’s content, while Parade Media will become a strategic equity partner in Outdoor Channel.

The partnership will also involve the launch of a new lifestyle brand MyLife, which will air nightly during primetime on Outdoor Channel throughout South-East and north Asia, with Australia and New Zealand to follow later.

Initial key titles making up the MyLife block include Andy & Ben Eat the World, Into the Outback with Abbey Holmes, My Sri Lanka with Peter Kuruvita, Xscape, The Ultimate Rush and Wild Lives.

In related news, Asian Food Network (owned by Discovery Networks Asia Pacific) has picked up five character-led culinary titles from Parade Media.

Headlining the deal is new series Luke Nguyen’s Railway Vietnam (10×30′), which follows the Vietnamese-Australian chef as he embarks on a culinary railway journey across Vietnam.

Also in the deal is Asia Unplated with Diana Chan (10×30′), in which the MasterChef Australia winner explores local shops and markets before cooking home-style Asian dishes.

Inside the Box with Jack Stein (10×30′) sees the British chef travel around the world, tasked with making new versions of local dishes from inside his own box kitchen.

Ongoing titles included in the deal are Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield (90×30′) and Good Chef Bad Chef (65×30′).
