Ovation sails back to Riviera

Neil Jordan’s Riviera is set in the glamour of the South of France

US arts-focused network Ovation has picked up the second season of drama Riviera and a string of other international titles.

S2 of Sky Atlantic original Riviera (10×60’) follows the battles for power and truth within the glitz and glamour of the Côte d’Azur. The series was produced by Archery Pictures and Primo Productions and created by Neil Jordan, who co-wrote it alongside John Banville.

Meanwhile, Ovation’s travel-focused AVoD service Journy has picked up S1 of action and adventure series Hooten & the Lady (8×60’). The Red Planet Pictures production follows a treasure-hunting duo, museum curator Lady Alexandra and American adventurer Hooten, in a series of global escapades. S2 will air on Ovation later in the year.

NBCUniversal Global Distribution handles international sales for both show.

Ovation has also taken 11 mystery titles from UK-based distributor DCD Rights to boost its Mystery Morning’s block. The deal includes two seasons of McCallum (9×90’) and three of Rebus (10×90’). All are set to air in 2020.

Journy has also added Glamping Adventures (8×30’) and Vanishing Foods (8×30’) to its programming from London-based distributor TVF International.

Finally, docuseries The New Creative India (8×30’) and stand-alone doc Havanna Curveball (1×60’) have gone to Journy in a first-time deal with UK distributor Espresso Media. Both will be released via the AVoD service in the summer.
