Ovation falls for 3DD’s trailblazing sisters

A Tale of Two Sisters profiles Queen Elizabeth and Princess Maragaret

MIPTV: US arts network Ovation has acquired a series of documentaries about remarkable women from UK distributor 3DD Entertainment.

The deal for two seasons of A Tale of Two Sisters (8×60’) spans Ovation’s linear channel and on-demand service Ovation NOW and will be available on both from May 6.

The documentary collection profiles famous sisters including Amelia and Muriel Earhart, Diana and Jessica Mitford, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret and Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Lee Radziwell, showing how their lives impacted on society and history, as well as on each other as sisters.

“The impact of these women is profound; we look at explorers, royalty, suffragettes and more. We explore not only how history has treated these women, but also how their private relationships affected their actions,” said Ovation’s exec VP of programming, Scott Woodward.

Ovation is currently available to around 50 million subscribers via cable, satellite and telco systems, including Comcast Cable/Xfinity, DirecTV/AT&T U-verse, Sprectrum and Verizon FiOS, as well as on VoD platforms.
