Orion Television taps scripted trio

L-R: Bradley Gardner, Christopher Goble and Jina Jones

MGM-owned Orion Television is strengthening its scripted programming and bolstering its development team by bringing in three executives.

Bradley Gardner has been named senior VP with a focus on comedy and drama content, Christopher Goble has been appointed VP and will work on horror and sci-fi titles, and Jina Jones will serve as head of studio development for MGM’s partnership with Brat TV and develop content for YA audiences.

Prior to joining MGM, Gardner was senior VP of development and original programming at Paramount Network and TV Land, where he oversaw the production of series including Younger, Heathers and Paradise Lost. Before that, he was a development executive for Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s prodco Hazy Mills.

Goble joins MGM from LA-based prodco Automatik Entertainment, where he was senior VP of television. During his tenure, he oversaw Freeform’s Beyond and was exec producer on Netflix’s Jigsaw, Amazon’s Red Earth, Revenger for Showtime and Hulu’s On a Sunbeam, among other shows.

Meanwhile, Jones joins the MGM ranks from Viacom-owned Awesomeness, where she was VP of scripted. At Awesomeness, she also exec produced titles such as Emmy-winning Zac & Mia, T@gged, Love Daily and The Commute.

The three new recruits will all report to Barry Poznick, MGM’s president of unscripted and alternative television and Orion Television. MGM Television’s current scripted projects include Fargo, Vikings, The Handmaid’s Tale, Get Shorty and Condor.
