OMG launches LGBTQ+ streamer in UK

Canada-based OUTtv Media Group (OMG) has launched an LGBTQ+ themed SVoD platform in the British Isles.

FROOT, which focuses on content by and for the queer community, launched earlier this week.

Owned by OMG, which launched the first LGBTQ+ TV channel in Canada, FROOT will be available on web browsers and via apps for iOS, Android, Roku and Amazon Fire.

Ru Paul’s Drag Race stars Trixie Mattel, Katya and Bob the Drag Queen will all feature in FROOT’s content.

The service looks to provide a range of genres, including drama, comedy, documentaries, reality shows and movies. It will cost £2.99 (US$3.94) a month and £29.99 for a year in the UK. A seven-day free trial will also be available for new subscribers.

The platform will be adding shows and documentaries each month.

OMG CEO Brad Danks said: “It’s our mission at OMG to ensure LGBTQ+ content is available and easily accessible to everyone, globally. We believe these are stories everyone needs to hear.”
