Olympusat picks up Galician drama duo

Hotel Almirante is based on the novel by Marta Rivera de la Cruz

Spanish-language OTT operator Olympusat has acquired two series from Galician producers Formato Producciones and Galician Television for its US channels.

Matalobos is an 87×45’ crime drama that aired from 2009 to 2013. It follows a fictional criminal family clan and explores the brutal reality of drug trafficking in the Spanish region of Galicia.

Hotel Almirante, meanwhile, is a 4×45’ love triangle drama set in the 1950s, based on the novel of the same name by Marta Rivera de la Cruz. It premiered in 2014.

Following the deal with Olympusat, both series will air in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada and on OTT in Latin America in Spanish. UK distributor Videoplugger secured the sales.
