ODMedia, MediaCloud link for Netflix in SA

Dutch on-demand content services provider ODMedia Group has partnered with telecoms provider MediaCloud Networks to optimise Netflix’s content in South Africa.

ODMedia and MediaCloud Networks have opened a South African facility that works with local content owners that have sold their content to Netflix. It ensures Netflix the content is the right quality and format and meets all of Netflix’s output requirements.

Jane Raggett, head of ODMedia South Africa, said: “By teaming with MediaCloud, we can ensure Netflix, through our expertise, has a local hub in the territory. We can meet their highly demanding requirements, which is always our top priority for our clients.”

Marc Eckstein, MD of MediaCloud TV, added: “We are excited to work with ODMedia Group in providing support and assistance to ensure a safe, reliable and robust infrastructure is in place in order to receive, transfer and process content for Netflix.”

ODMedia recently opened a new office in Poland and has additional postings in the UK, Germany, Spain, Benelux, South Africa and Scandinavia. It is also planning to open an office in France.

The company serves as a middle man between content owners and platforms, ensuring the content is in the right format for any screen around the world and taking care of technical requirements, leaving the broadcaster and producer to focus on their core activities.
