NV Studios builds up LA team

The fledgling Los Angeles arm of South African producer NV Studios has appointed a development executive for the company’s scripted and unscripted series slates.

Luke Field has joined the firm having sold television miniseries The 43 to the BBC recently and produced the Frank Sinatra documentary To Be Frank on Netflix.

Field has also acted in projects including Where The Road Meets The Sun, Lotus Eaters, Blackwood, Magic Boys, American Poltergeist, Tim & Emily, I Am The Doorway, One Last Night and Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit, alongside stars such as Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and Rebel Wilson.

NV Studios CEO Damien Brown, who will be moving to LA permanently to oversee the international operation soon, said: “Luke’s diverse skill set and industry contacts will add tremendous value to the company.

“We have some thrilling scripted and unscripted shows in the works already and I’m looking forward to working with Luke to help grow our content roster exponentially.”

Cape Town-based development executive Witney Tucker will also be making the move to LA to work alongside Field and Brown.
