Noah launches sales arm, secures Edge deals

UK indie Noah Media Group is launching a distribution arm, which has already agreed deals with Amazon Prime Video and the BBC for sports doc The Edge.

The London-based firm is behind docs including Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager which is on Netflix and Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans.

It has now launched a sales team headed up by Catherine Quantschnigg who was previously head of sales at Uk indie Atlantic Productions. She also held executive sales positions at Goldchrest and Cornerstone Films.

The first deal secured by her team sees Amazon Prime Video in the UK and local pubcaster the BBC picking up cricket documentary The Edge.

The film explores the effect the sport’s ruthless intensity can have on player’s mental health and will be available on Amazon Prime Video and BBC2 during 2020.

The Edge will be launched to international buyers at next month’s Mipcom. It is directed by Barney Douglas (Warriors), and produced by Gabriel Clarke, Torquil Jones and John McKenna of Noah Media Group, along with Douglas.

Further titles on Noah’s inaugural sales slate include the Cannes selected Steve McQueen doc, which tells the true story of the Hollywood superstar’s passion project that turned into a disaster; Take His Legs, charting Australian comedian Adam Hills’ formation of the world’s first physical disability rugby league team; and Out of Their Skin, with Ian Wright fronting the 40-year history of black British football.

Noah Media Group is currently in production on a feature-length documentary about the legendary football player, manager, World Cup winner, Freeman of Dublin and Honorary Citizen of Ireland, Jack Charlton.
