Nippon TV’s Princess finds suitors in US, Japan

Nippon TV’s Joran the Princess of Snow & Blood

WarnerMedia-owned US anime streamer Crunchyroll and Medialink’s Japanese platform Ani-one have picked up anime series Joran the Princess of Snow & Blood from Nippon TV.

The 12×30’ series is a coproduction with Hulu in Japan, Bakken Record, Bushiroad Move, Bushiroad Music and Dentsu, with Susumu Kudo (Ghost in the Shell Arise: Border 4 – Ghost Stands Alone) directing.

Written by Rika Nezu (Kimi ni Todoke, Rainbow Days), Joran the Princess of Snow & Blood follows a girl who seeks vengeance for her family’s murder.

The show has also been acquired in Asia by the Medialink-owned pay TV channel Aniplus and streamer aniplus.tv. Nippon TV and Hulu in Japan handle international rights.

Kako Kuwahara, exec VP for the anime department at Nippon TV, said: “Joran the Princess of Snow & Blood features intense action, serious human dramas and a dark look. I am confident it will capture the hearts of anime fans across the globe.”
