Nippon TV adapts CJ ENM cop show

Japanese network Nippon TV is to adapt a police procedural format from South Korean broadcaster CJ ENM.

The Japanese version of Voice, which has run for three seasons in South Korea, will premiere in July in Saturday primetime. Directed by Taro Otani and produced by local outfit AX-ON, Nippon’s adaptation will star Toshiaki Karasawa and Yoko Maki.

The third and final season of the original Voice premiered in Korea last week.

Jangho Seo, general manager at CJ ENM, said: “CJ ENM’s unique and trendy scripted formats are gaining popularity worldwide. Voice, especially, is one of the highest-scoring drama series on our crime series channel OCN.”
