Nippon adopts Star TV’s Anne

Anne has been sold into 40 countries worldwide

Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV has acquired the rights to Turkish drama series Anne, an adaptation of its own series Mother.

Anne, which has been sold into 40 countries, will be the first Turkish series to air on Nippon’s free-to-air satellite channel BS Nippon TV.

It will premiere on September 3 and will also be made available on SVoD service Hulu in Japan on the same day.

The Turkish show was produced by Medyapim for Star TV and tells the story of an abused schoolgirl who turns to a primary school teacher for help, with both eventually escaping town pretending to be mother and daughter.
