Nicola Pearcey to leave Lionsgate UK

Nicola Pearcey will step down as president of US studio Lionsgate’s UK film and TV operations at the end of the year.

Nicola Pearcey

Pearcey has been part of the senior leadership of Lionsgate UK for more than a decade, during which time she has led the local release of films including The Hunger Games and John Wick.

She has also grown its local TV business with projects such as The Goes Wrong Show for BBC1 and comedy series Motherland and The Pact.

The news follows July’s departure of Zygi Kamasa, CEO of Lionsgate UK and Europe, to form his own production start-up. Pearcey initially assumed his responsibilities into her own role.

Pearcey said: “My tenure at Lionsgate has been deeply rewarding but the time has come for me to pursue an expanding range of new opportunities. It has been a privilege to help grow this company and to help build an immensely talented family internally and externally, and I’m proud of the great content and partnerships we have created over the years.”

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer added: “I want to thank Nicola for 14 years of valuable contributions to the growth of our business in the UK. She has been an inspiring and ambitious leader in growing Lionsgate UK into a strong film and television brand, and she has helped to create a vibrant and close-knit culture among our employees.”
