Nickelodeon boards Best & Bester

Best & Bester from Eye Present and Gigglebug Entertainment

Nickelodeon has pre-bought animated comedy series Best & Bester from London-based Eye Present and Finnish studio Gigglebug Entertainment.

The 52×11’ series follows two creatures and best friends obsessed with comparing the best things of all time while enjoying the power to transform themselves into whatever they want.

The deal includes creative input and broadcast commitment from Nickelodeon International and Finnish broadcaster YLE, plus development funding from EU cultural support programme Creative Europe.

Best & Bester was created by Joonas Utti and Anttu Harlin.

Harlin, who is also an exec producer and co-founder of Gigglebug, said: “We want to spread joy through animation. To make seriously silly stuff, with a purpose.”

Layla Lewis, senior VP global acquisitions and content partnerships at Nickelodeon, said: “Best & Bester offers both the laughs and the smarts that we think will resonate with our audience. We’re excited to welcome them to the Nick family and bring this comedic duo to our international screens.”
