Nick Australia gets with the Beat Bugs

Nickelodeon Australia has acquired the first animated children’s series to feature songs by The Beatles.

Daytime Emmy-winning preschool toon Beat Bugs

Coproduced by US-based film and television production company Grace: A Storytelling Company, Thunderbird Entertainment and Beyond Screen Production, Beat Bugs will air on Nick Jr.

Netflix bought worldwide streaming rights to the first season, created by director, writer and showrunner Josh Wakely and quickly ordered a second.

The Nick deal is the first licensed by Beyond Distribution ahead of the show’s launch at MipJunior in October.

Beat Bugs recently won a daytime Emmy for outstanding writing in a preschool animated programme.
