Nice Drama taps Eccho Rights exec

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT)-owned Nice Drama has appointed Karin Strandberg Blom from distributor Eccho Rights as executive producer.

Strandberg Blom was drama development executive at the CJ ENM-owned sales house and focused on developing and financing Nordic projects for the international market.

She has over 20 years’ experience, having previously worked as producer at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, as well as at SF studios and Warner Bros.

Alexander Tanno, CEO of Nice Drama, said: “Karin’s diverse background, storytelling talent and broad network gives her a unique skillset. I look forward to working with Karin and the team on some of the Nordic region’s most exciting scripted drama projects.”

Strandberg Blom added: “Storytelling has always been my passion, no matter whether I have been working with film, TV, theatre or distribution. I feel proud to have been part of transforming Eccho Rights from a niche distributor into an international content player. Now I’m ready to join the Nice Drama team and tell unique stories that engage and touch people in the Nordic region and around the world.”

Nice Drama is currently in production, with Swedish pubcaster SVT and Finland’s YLE, on upcoming thriller series White Wall which is set to premiere in autumn 2020.

Nice Drama productions include popular series Midnight Sun and Thicker Than Water.
