NHK, BBCWW prep 4K copro

MIPCOM: Japan’s NHK and BBC Worldwide have joined forces to coproduce a blue-chip natural history series in 4K.

Three-part series Wild Japan, which explores the country’s untamed regions, will be coproduced by the BBC’s Natural History Unit (NHU) and NHK.

Tomonori Take is executive producer for NHK Enterprises and Mary Summerill is series producer for BBC NHU.

The series will be shot mostly in 4K resolution but will also be available in 2K and will air globally in 2015/16.
