Zeppotron’s Richard Cohen promoted to director of programmes

Banijay UK-owned Zeppotron has appointed executive producer Richard Cohen to the newly created role of director of programmes.

Reporting to Zeppotron MD, Peter Holmes, Cohen will work with the prodco’s development team to help grow its slate of productions.

He will also develop new programme ideas for the UK and international market while continuing to produce and deliver titles on Zeppotron’s slate including Last One Laughing (Amazon-owned Prime Video) and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4).

Cohen, who has over 20 years’ experience in the television industry, served as executive producer for Prime Video series Last One Laughing, a coproduction with fellow Banijay UK label Initial.

The hit series has amassed 39 million views since launch and has just been recommissioned for a second season in the UK.

Cohen has been at the label since 2010 serving as producer, series producer and executive producer across a range of titles.

During his time at Zeppotron, Cohen’s credits include series and executive producer on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown since it first started in 2012, executive producer on The Ranganation (BBC Two) and series producer on three seasons of Would I Lie To You? (BBC One).
