ZEE5 launches ‘milestone’ police procedural based on Korean drama Signal

ZEE5 in India has launched its Hindi-language adaptation of critically acclaimed Korean drama Signal that first aired in 2016 and has previously been remade in Japan and Thailand.

Produced by Sikhya Entertainment and Dharmatic Entertainment, Gyaarah Gyaarah is directed by Umesh Bist and stars Raghav Juyal, Kritika Kamra and Dhairya Karwa.

The storyline navigates through significant years in India’s history – 1990, 2001 and 2016 – telling an intertwining storyline that incorporates themes including justice, mystery and the supernatural.

Set amid the magical Himalayan ranges, it comes after the original tvN version, produced by Studio Dragon and distributed by CJ ENM, explored the concept of communication across time to solve cold cases.

The story revolves around a modern-day criminal profiler, who stumbles upon an old walkie-talkie that connects him to a police officer from the late 80s. Together, they unravel unsolved mysteries and fight against corruption.
