Dubai-based Sandhu said he would be leaving Zee Entertainment to make a move into his first entrepreneurial venture, details of which will be announced “soon.”

During his time at Zee, Sandhu has helped grow the Indian broadcaster’s content licensing business to over 75 countries, distributing programming in more than 15 languages across multiple platforms.

It has also grown its international coproduction activity, including the first coproduced telenovela between India and Latin America in the form of Mexican show Valentina, My Special Love. Based on the 2009 Indian telenovela Aapki Antara, it was filmed in Guadalajara last year.

Prior to joining Zee Entertainment in 2017, Sandhu was head of marketing for MENA at Amity Education Group. Before that, he was with Gulf News Broadcasting as head of sponsorships and promotions.

Sandhu has also worked with media organisations such as Star TV, BIG 92.7 FM and The Walt Disney Company, having started his career with Singapore Airlines.
