ZDFE sees Naked’s attraction

German distributor ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has secured the global rights, excluding Canada, to forthcoming gender-themed factual series Naked.

The German-Canadian copro, which comes from Spiegel TV and Primitive Entertainment, will premiere on ZDF and Arte in Europe and on Bell Media’s VoD platform Crave in Canada.

The 6×50’ series, which also comes with a 1×90’ special, raises questions about how biological sexes and assigned genders shape people around the world.

“All around the world people are re-examining our relationships and striving for more understanding and empathy. We hope that Naked’s exploration of our most fundamental being and our most intimate connections with each other will be an engaging contribution to the global dialogue,” said Michael McMahon, executive producer at Primitive Entertainment.
