ZDF goes travelling with Talpa

Around the World with 80-Year-Olds originally aired on SBS6

A broadcaster in Germany has commissioned a local version of a Talpa format in which travel-shy senior citizens explore the world.

ZDF has ordered Around the World with 80-Year-Olds, which sees six seniors who have never left their home country before travel the globe.

The Dutch format originally aired in the Netherlands on SBS6 before Talpa secured a deal with Chinese prodco 3C Media to remake the show in China.

A second season is due to air on SBS6 in spring 2018, while the German version is set to make its debut in the summer.
