YouTube prank show Tapped Out shifts to TV for special in first for Channel 4

Channel 4.0 comedy prank show Tapped Out

A show from Channel 4.0, UK pubcaster Channel 4’s digital-first YouTube brand, is crossing over to television for the first time, with Tapped Out heading to the flagship channel for an expanded celebrity edition.

Inspired by the hit YouTube series, the chaotic comedy prank show will put three celebs to the test in a Channel 4 TV special.

Tapped Out Prank Stars will see Harry Pinero join host Nella Rose as they invite three famous faces – rapper ArrDee, comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri and JLS singer Aston Merrygold – to take on extreme cringeworthy challenges, all watched by a studio audience.

The 1×60’ programme was created and produced by Wall of Entertainment with GroupM Motion Entertainment as coproducer.

Wall of Entertainment’s Tafara Makopa, Percelle Ascott, Joivan Wade and Christopher Barbour are the show’s executive producers, with Ben Hardy as director.

Martin Oxley, head of UK formats and entertainment, is the exec producer for GroupM Motion.

The show was commissioned for Channel 4 by Cimran Shah, commissioning editor for reality and entertainment, and Evie Buckley, digital commissioning editor and Channel 4.0 lead.

The programme was funded by Channel 4 and GroupM Motion’s Diverse Indies Fund. The fund was set up to help small and medium-sized, ethnically diverse-owned independent production companies to produce new projects. It is overseen by Vivienne Molokwu, senior commissioning editor at Channel 4, and Deep Sehgal, head of creative diversity at GroupM Motion.
